One of the greatest strategic cardgames in the
world is definately Magic: The Gathering. It combines strategy, action and a
lot of fantasy in one game. Another great feature of the game is the
wonderful artwork on the cards, which makes collecting them very attractive
(and addictive). As I mentioned on my fantasy page, there is a vast storyline behind the game, which is now being published in pocket novels. The setting of the game is a world known as Dominaria, a so called plane within a great multiverse of different planes called Dominia. In the game, you take the role of a mighty planeswalker, a wizard who has the power to walk between planes. Your mission is to battle your opponent with the spells you control. These spells are the deck of cards you hold. You can make your own deck, and use any cards you want. Since there are thousands of different cards, and five colours of Magic, the possibilities are unlimited. You can construct a deck based on a certain strategy, or on a theme, for example: elves or goblins. Magic exists in five colours as I mentioned before. These colours are white , blue , black , red and green . White stands for light and order and comes forth from the plains, blue for mind and illusion from the islands, black for darkness and decay from the swamps, red for chaos and destruction from the mountains, green for nature and growth from the forests. Furthermore, there are lots of so called artifacts, which are colourless objects or items you can use.
